Our Speakers:

Judith Swales, COO Velocity and Innovation, Fonterra
Judith has been with Fonterra since 2013 and was appointed Chief Operating
Officer Velocity and Innovation in June 2016. She’s responsible for driving
efficiency across the Co-operative, bringing increased commercial focus to
Fonterra’s research, development and technology, and taking a strategic view
on developing game changing business models. Prior to this appointment,
Judith was the Managing Director of Fonterra Oceania, leading the successful
turnaround of the Australian business and overseeing Fonterra Brands New
Zealand.

Carly Robinson, Director VelocityNXT, Fonterra
Carly has been part of the dairy industry for over 20 years, joining the New
Zealand Dairy Board’s Marketing Graduate Programme in 1998. Working
closely with our business and many stakeholders, Carly’s current role is
enabling Fonterra’s drive to a more innovative and sustainable Co-operative.
She oversees a team that is responsible for supporting the organisation to
convert big, bold and highly innovative ideas into value, with a primary focus
on initiatives that are complex, highly cross-functional or require new
technology, tools or capabilities.
Judith and Carly will speak about Fonterra – today and in the future – and the
strategic role of data and analytics in continuing to build an Innovative Co-op.

Kat Greenbrook, Founder, Rogue Penguin
Rogue Penguin is a data visualisation agency in Wellington. She has a
background in analytical modelling and graphic design. Her focus now is
around helping businesses tell their data stories.
Not all data visualisations should be created equally. Kat will introduce some
basic principles of graphic design that you can then apply to enhance your
data visualisation storytelling. To prove it’s easily done when you know how,
she’ll step through a data viz makeover.

Stefan Schliebs, Lead Data Scientist at Quantiful and Co-founder of the
Data Science Academy

Stefan holds a PhD degree in computer science and worked for many years
in both academic and commercial environments. He is a co-organizer of the R
User Meetup Group Auckland. Stefan is passionate about empowering data
professionals to help them delivering high quality data outputs, follow best
practice and use modern data science tools in their daily work.
He will be discussing building Web applications in R :- ‘R Shiny’ is a web
framework to rapidly develop data focused web applications and dashboards.
It promises to enable data scientists to develop interactive data products on
their own without requiring in-depth knowledge of HTML and Javascript.
Stefan has been working with Shiny for the last 3 years and would like to
share his experience with the wider analytics community. He will be covering
motivation of using R for data focused web applications, development,
examples, data back-ends, deployment and security in an enterprise context.
